A: No, Red Paw is an emergency response organization that just so happens to rescue pets.

Q: Is Red Paw run by the Red Cross?

A: No, Red Paw is a separate organization. We work in conjunction with the Red Cross to assure ALL family members are cared for!

Q: What types of emergencies does Red Paw respond to?

A: Red Paw responds to any emergency that the Red Cross would respond to where pets have been displaced from their homes. These include: fires, flooding, building collapse, weather incidents, storms, etc.

Q: How do I become part of the Red Paw Emergency Relief Team?

A: Red Paw volunteers responds 24/7, 365 days a year to provide assistance to displaced pets. We can’t do it alone! Q: Can Red Paw help me if I get evicted, deployed, or find a stray animal?

A: No, unfortunately, due to the heavy volume of displaced pets involved in disasters, we can not stray from our mission.

Q: How long will you keep my displaced pet for?

A: We will keep a displaced pet in our care for 14 days.

Q: What happens if I need more than 14 days?

A: We can provide you with other resources like low cost boarding facilities or temporary animal sanctuaries.

Q: If I want my pet back sooner than 14 days, how do I get him/her back?

A: At any time while a displaced pet is in our care you can call us and set up a time to be reunited.

Q: What happens if my pet is not vaccinated or spayed/neutered? Will you still provide assistance?

A: Yes, we will still provide assistance, BUT we will have to get the animal vaccinated and spayed/neutered.

Q: Will I be charged for services?

A: No, all of our emergency services are free of charge to the client. Assistance with emergency veterinary bills is on a case by case basis.

Q: If I need assistance paying for my pet’s medical bills can Red Paw help?

A: No, we are not an emergency medical fund. We can only assist with pet’s we have assisted on-scene.

Q: How can you afford to offer all of your services free of charge?

A: Red Paw is able to provide all of its services free of charge to their clients solely through donations.

Q: What happens if I can not take my animal back? Will you keep him/her?

A: Yes, we will keep your pet and make sure they are adopted to a good home.

Q: Will my animal be put to sleep?

A: NO. We will keep the surrendered animals in our care and work within our network to find them a new furever home.
